The Forum is to enhance unity, tolerance, understanding, and compassion amongst all Muslims and promote peace, justice, freedom, and harmony of humankind through creating public awareness of Islam and celebrating the cultural and ethnic diversity of Muslims. |

The objectives of the Forum are to: 1. Foster unity among Muslims through understanding, tolerance and acceptance of the people of the entire community, regardless of religious practice, gender, ethnicity, language and traditions through social interaction, exchange of ideas, and mutual education. 2. Develop a pro-active campaign for public education and creating awareness of the values, principles, and positive message of Islam through organizing educational programs at schools and religious institutions, conferences, seminars, interfaith discussions, etc., and use all forms of media to advance this goal. 3. Provide a unified and organized voice for the Muslim community to promote an individual’s or a group’s right to freedom of speech, assembly, practice of religion, etc., and to challenge any form of wrongful persecution and discrimination based on race, religion, and gender, particularly those directed towards the Muslim community. 4. Promote activities that lead to mutual respect, bonds of friendship, and a sense of belonging among members of the community, particularly within the youth of the Muslim community. 5. Develop community programs, such as picnics, sports, cultural and recreational activities that bring people closer in relaxed informal settings and participate in activities organized by others. 6. Maintain liaison and good public relations with civic, economic, and political organizations and various branches of local, state, and federal governments in order to position Muslims as an integral part of the mainstream society 7. Aim to provide, help arrange, or give information regarding, social services and monetary help to those in need, particularly dislocated Muslim refugees and new members of the community. 8. Coordinate with existing network(s) of businesspersons and professionals within the Muslim community that can benefit each other and help create new opportunities. 9. Utilize the resources of and coordinate our efforts with existing Muslim institutions and organizations. 10. Make conscious efforts to integrate into the mainstream society without compromising our Muslim identity. |
